Machine Polishing

Machine Polishing

Detailing enhances paintwork, but paint correction repairs it. If your car, van, caravan or motorhomes paintwork suffers from swirl marks, scratches or other imperfections then this service is for you. There is no point bringing a mirror-deep shine to an imperfect surface.
Machine polishing can be used as a very effective tool for paintwork correction. In the wrong hands it can produce spectacularly poor results as we all too often see. At best swirl marks and holograms can be imparted and at worst burn through or destruction of painted panels. The latter is fortunately rare but can easily be done on a caravan or motorhome where the paint is extremely thin. Paint correction is also known as swirl mark removal, machine polishing or buffing. The definition of paint correction is the removal of all imperfections in paintwork, such as scratches, water marks, dried bug remains and fading, to reproduce an as new condition or better. The process is undertaken by someone with quite a few years experience in understanding how the structure of paint is applied on a vehicle. It involves the use of a machine polisher (usually a rotary buffer or a dual action buffer), a selection of abrasive compounds and an assortment of buffing pads, together with regular checks with a paint depth gauge whilst polishing, to keep record of exactly how much paint is being abraded away.
This service is recommended to have a paint sealant applied after machine polishing paint correction has been carried out to preserve that fresh flawless finish. This is at an extra cost. Contact us for details and options.
